SerpDino features
SerpDino is a web-based SEO platform that collects live Google search results and Google Maps results on its own scraping infrastructure and keeps every result as history. You create a project for a website or a local business and add keywords. SerpDino then checks them on a schedule you set and records each check: your position, the URL that ranks, the full result list and the sources cited in any AI Overview. It adds the data around those positions automatically: search demand, competitors, traffic estimates and site performance.
This page describes everything SerpDino does and how the pieces relate. Each section links to the page where that part of the product is shown in detail.

How SerpDino is organized
Projects, keywords and checks
Everything in SerpDino belongs to a project. There are two project types:
- Google Search: tracks a domain, plus optional alias domains that count as the same site, such as country versions, in Google’s organic results.
- Google Local Business: tracks a business listing in Google Maps from a grid of GPS points around it.
A project contains keywords. Each keyword has its own Google country and language, so one project can cover several markets. A check is one measurement of one keyword: it runs on the project’s schedule or when you trigger it. Each check is stored with its date.
Credits
Checks are paid for with monthly credits:
- 1 credit is one keyword checked to a depth of 50 results.
- 2 credits is one keyword checked to a depth of 100 results.
- 1 credit is one grid point × one keyword in a local project.
- Traffic, page speed, competitor and keyword-volume data come with the project and cost no credits.
How the data connects
| Entity | Connected to |
|---|---|
| Project | a domain (with aliases) or a Google Maps business; keywords; a schedule; competitors; notes; a folder |
| Keyword | a phrase, a Google country and a language; search volume, CPC and competition; an optional expected URL; every check made for it |
| Check | a date; your position, ranking URL and title; the stored result list; the AI Overview and its cited sources; flags for URL mismatch and cannibalization |
| Domain | traffic, engagement, traffic sources, countries and AI-assistant traffic (Similarweb); Lighthouse scores, Core Web Vitals and CrUX history; the pages that rank for your keywords |
| Competitor | a domain found in the top 20 for your keywords; its positions on the same keywords and dates; its traffic and Core Web Vitals |
| Page (URL) | the keywords ranking on it; best and average position; keywords in positions 11–30; its own Lighthouse audit compared with the home page |
| Grid point | GPS coordinates; for each keyword and scan, every business ranked there and your position among them |
Google keyword positions
SerpDino measures where your domain ranks in Google’s organic results for each keyword, then keeps every measurement.
Markets and depth
- Each keyword has its own Google country (185 available) and language (45 available).
- Each project checks the top 50 results (5 pages), or the top 100 (10 pages) on the paid plan.
- Alias domains let one project count several domains as the same site, for example
example.deandexample.fr. - Results are not split by device. SerpDino tracks Google only.
What each check records
- Your position, or “not ranked” when the domain is outside the checked depth
- The URL and title that rank
- The full list of organic results at that depth
- Whether an AI Overview appeared, and which sources it cited
- How many of your URLs rank for the keyword (cannibalization)
- Whether the ranking URL matches the expected URL you set
Reading the results
- Visibility: a percentage that weights each position by its typical click-through rate. Shown per project and over time.
- Position distribution: how many keywords sit in each ranking range.
- Summary figures: average position, keywords in the top 10, improved, declined, not ranked and AI Overview count for the selected period.
- Estimated clicks: monthly clicks estimated from position and search volume.
- Per-keyword volatility: each keyword is marked stable, moderate or volatile for the period.
- Filters: gainers, losers, top 10, AI Overview, URL mismatch, has position, no position.
- Periods: last 7 or 30 days, last 3 or 6 months, or a custom range. Data can be shown daily, weekly or monthly.
- Context: Google algorithm updates are marked on the chart and in the table.
Verified drops
When a domain that ranked the day before is suddenly missing, or drops by more than 10 positions, SerpDino re-checks the result from a different scraping node before saving it. The dashboard shows how many times a position was re-checked.
Adding keywords
- Paste keywords in bulk, one per line, with a country and language for each batch.
- Choose from AI keyword suggestions generated from your own site (see keyword demand).
- Import ranking history from a CSV or XLSX file: the SerpDino template, or an export from SpySerp. The import restores past positions and expected URLs.
- Move keywords between projects.

Stored SERPs and AI Overviews
Every check keeps the search results page it was measured on, so a position can be read in context.
SERP snapshots
Open any position to see the results for that keyword on that date: the top 30 results with their domains, URLs and titles, how each result moved since the previous check, and where your domain sat even if it was below 30. Paid results are excluded.
AI Overviews
For every check, SerpDino records whether Google showed an AI Overview, saves the list of sources it cited and marks the keyword when your domain is one of them. You can filter keywords by AI Overview and count them over a period.
Ranking URLs: expected URL and cannibalization
- Expected URL: assign the page that should rank for a keyword. SerpDino flags the keyword whenever Google ranks a different URL from your domain.
- Cannibalization: flagged when more than one URL from your domain ranks for the same keyword.
SERP Volatility Index
Across all keywords it tracks, SerpDino measures how often fresh results differ enough to need a re-check. It publishes that rate as a daily index relative to a rolling baseline. The index is public and needs no account.

Google Maps rankings on a geo-grid
A local project shows where a business appears in Google Maps from many points around it, not from a single location.
Business and grid
- Find the business by name or Google Place ID. No Google account connection or ownership verification is needed, so any business can be tracked, including a competitor.
- Add other branches of the same business. They count as yours wherever they rank instead of the main listing.
- Build a square or circular grid from 3×3 to 21×21 points (up to 441), with 0.5–10 km or miles between points, or place up to 60 custom points by hand.
- Every point is a real Google Maps search at a fixed 17z zoom, which captures roughly 80–120 businesses per point with exact positions.
- The country comes from the business; the language is detected automatically and can be changed per keyword.
Local metrics
- Rank at each point: your exact position, or “not found”.
- Visibility: a weighted score per point across all keywords, where #1 counts fully and lower positions count less.
- Share of Local Voice (SoLV): the share of grid points where the business is in the top 20 for a keyword.
- Average Rank Position (ARP): the mean position across the points where the business was found, always reported with coverage.
Who ranks at each point
Click a point to see every business ranked there, with its category, rating, review count and, where Google shows it, its website. Every scan is stored, so you can compare grids between dates. If the business has a website, the project also gets the traffic and page speed panels described below.
Competitors
SerpDino finds a project’s competitors from its own data. These are the domains that most often appear in the top 20 for your tracked keywords, up to 10, recalculated daily, with large general platforms such as Wikipedia or YouTube left out.
For each competitor, SerpDino shows:
- its positions on your keywords, on the same dates as yours
- its traffic, engagement, traffic sources and top countries (Similarweb)
- its Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse scores
- a side-by-side comparison with your own domain
In local projects, every grid point lists the competing businesses that rank there.

Keyword demand and research
Search volume and trends
Each tracked keyword carries Google Ads data: average monthly searches, up to four years of monthly volume, competition level and index, a CPC range and a trend direction.
Keyword research
The Keyword Research tool in the dashboard starts from a keyword, a page URL or a whole domain, in any country and language. It returns keyword ideas with volume, CPC, difficulty, a 12-month trend, an AI-assigned search intent (informational, commercial, transactional, navigational) and topic clusters. Results can be filtered, exported to CSV or added to a project in one click.
AI keyword suggestions
After a project’s first check, SerpDino reads the site’s pages, detects the languages and markets it targets, and suggests keywords for each with search volume. Suggestions refresh weekly and only new ideas are added.

Website traffic and AI-assistant traffic
Every project domain and its competitors get Similarweb traffic estimates, saved each month so the history builds while the project is active:
- monthly visits, bounce rate, pages per visit, visit duration
- global, country and category rank
- traffic sources: direct, search, social, referral and others
- top countries
- AI-assistant traffic: estimated visits from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, their share of all traffic and of referrals, the split by assistant, how that mix changes over time, and top prompts where Similarweb reports them
These figures are modeled estimates from Similarweb, not server-side counts. They are useful for trends and comparison.
Page speed and Core Web Vitals
Lighthouse lab data
SerpDino runs Google PageSpeed Insights (mobile) on each project domain and its competitors every week, and records:
- Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO scores
- FCP, LCP, TBT, CLS, Speed Index, TTI, TTFB
- page weight, DOM size and third-party scripts
- basic SEO checks: title, meta description, link text, crawlability, robots.txt, canonical, hreflang
CrUX field data and history
When Google has real-user data for a site, SerpDino shows the 75th-percentile LCP, INP, CLS, FCP and TTFB from the Chrome UX Report, a combined real-user score, and Core Web Vitals history for the whole domain and for individual URLs.
Rankings grouped by page
Tracked keywords are grouped by the page of your site that ranks for them. For each page SerpDino shows:
- how many keywords rank there
- best and average position, and a trend of the average
- keywords in the top 10
- keywords in positions 11–30, the closest to page one
- a page type (home, blog, pricing, tool, docs and so on)
- a Lighthouse audit of that page compared with your home page
Scheduling, history and reporting
Schedules
Each project updates daily, every 3 days, weekly, every 2 weeks, on chosen weekdays, or only on demand, at the hour and in the timezone you choose. A preview shows the coming updates and how many keywords your monthly credits cover at that schedule. Any keyword can also be re-checked manually at any time.
History
Positions, SERP snapshots and local grid scans are stored for every check. Traffic is stored monthly, page speed weekly and Core Web Vitals history as Google publishes it.
Notes and folders
Add a color-coded note to any date: a site change, a migration, a Google update. Notes appear on the charts next to the movement they explain. Group projects into folders by client, market or site.
Sharing and exports
- A project can be shared as a read-only public link that shows the same dashboard.
- Export rankings to CSV, as full daily positions or a summary.
- Export a project report as Markdown (Agent.md) with rankings, traffic, competitors and performance, ready to give to an AI assistant.
- The dashboard shows how your credits are spent by day and by project.
API, MCP and AI agents
The project data and the research tools are available outside the dashboard on the paid plan:
- REST API: projects, folders, keywords, position history, SERP snapshots, keyword volumes and research, competitors, pages, PageSpeed, CrUX, traffic, notes, exports and account usage. An OpenAPI 3.1 specification and an LLM-readable reference are published.
- MCP server: lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients use 27 SerpDino tools directly. It is available as a remote URL or as an open-source local server.
- Reading data costs no credits. Refreshing positions costs the same credits as in the dashboard.

- crawl or audit whole websites
- manage Google Business Profiles (posts, reviews or citations)
